Constanta
Constanta is the capital of Constanta County,on the black sea.It is the principal seaport of Romania. The city has an archeology museum built in 1879.
In ancient times, the city was known as Tomis, and it was the town where the Roman poet Ovidius spent his exile.
In the 4th century AD it was rechristened Constantiana in honor of the sister of the Roman emperor Constantine the Great.
Under Ottoman domination (1413-1878) the city was called Kustenja. The name was changed to Constanta in 1878,when Romania acquired the territory from Bulgaria.
Now i've been living in Constanta for 18 years and though it's a romanian city and it's far from being perfect I'd say it's worth seeing and visiting, there are some great sights out here(not only in the summer). You should consider visiting the old part of the city near the Cazino and the Constanta port...anyways just come and see for yourself!
